Hans Zimmer, Art of the Score – in concert
The Auckland Philharmonia perform highlights from Hans Zimmer’s vast catalogue of soundtracks. Australian podcast creators of Art Of The Score lead the concert and give a lot of entertaining insights into the music.
To create the diverse lush soundscapes of Hans Zimmer’s various film projects the entire orchestra needed to be amplified and I had six different reverbs to suit each mood.
The concert was mixed on a DiGiCo Quantum 338 console.

This is a sneaky video from behind the mixing desk during the concert, while the orchestra was performing Interstellar. Don’t be surprised by the talking. That is Reuben Brown, the assistant conductor, giving me cues as he’s reading the sheet music.
